Liver question
Can one be disqualified from any class medical for having a "fatty liver"?
Had some blood work done a few weeks ago and liver enzymes were high. Had an Ultra-Sound on Monday and found out I have this condition. Not alcohol related, as I almost never drink.
From what I've found via searching, I should be fine, but would like to confirm. Thanks!!
EDIT: I should mention that I have my first, first-class medical, scheduled for December 20th. Never had a health problem until now.

report above on your application. If i were conducting your exam i would rec approval but would defer decision to the FAA, assuming your exam was otherwise normal.
There are many causes of fatty liver. Most are benign but some are serious and can be an early warning. Regardless of you being an airman, I would suggest a consultation with a liver specialist(Gi).

threeighteen, Wow - in three months you were able to reverse that diagnosis? I'm so happy to hear that! Did you have another ultra-sound done and they compared the two? Did you also have your enzymes checked again? I'm so impressed with this report. What was your BMI before you started eating healthier?
