Default Blood donation

I am on the road and dont have my FAR's with me. Is there an FAR that designates a time requirement relating donating blood and flying? We are having an argument and can not resolve it.

There is no FAR requirement, however many companies have policies regarding flight time limitiations following blood donations.

There is nothing in our GOM but would you consider 24 hours a reasonable number?

That is what the Air Force used when I was still in, but don't know about now.

IIRC, 24 hrs was what we used at ACA/Independence Air in our FOM.

72 Hours for the Army, with the caveat in the regulation that Army Aviators "should not be regular blood donors."

Where I trained, we had to have 72 hours between donating and flying.

72 everywhere I have worked, but also not recommended. It impacts your ability to adapt to altitude.
