Default My Fitness Pal

A friend told me about this App.
I was never much for counting calories. Seems a bit unatainable as a pilot type, however My Fitness Pal has just about any airport type foods listed so you can keep track.

Between the calorie counting and exercise follow up I find I can keep things under control and am more apt to work out on layovers and be a bit more careful when considering what I eat on those layovers.

I also carry tuna packs, mainly for when a long day gets out of hand and my food choices at 3am are either that or 5 little bags of pretzels.

Default Insanity

Something that helped me was the Insanity program. I sucked really bad the first week and bones and body hurt because of my weight at that point (262lbs). I stuck with it and watched what I ate and at the end of it all, i got down to 230lbs and am now doing the program again. I'm now down to 225lbs looking to trim down to 210lbs. I feel great and my energy level is through the roof.

As far as foods, I decreased my fried food, increased my green veggies and overall watched my calorie intake. Dont be afraid of P90X because it works. The Insanity was best choice for me because I didn't need to purchase any weights or other equipment and the results are amazing.

Hope that helps.

Everyone now seems to be using trackers like FitBit... I'm guilty of it too. It does have a pretty good app though that automatically tracks your exercise and sleep based off heart rate over time, plus your steps, stairs, and calories burned. You can log food intake, water intake, and track your weight loss over time. Certain models will vibrate and tell you to get up and walk around every hour.

I use the FitBit app and Runkeeper, it records your runs and connects to music on your phone for the run.
