I don't know of anyone using the knife anymore, the laser is much more precise and reliable.

Wavefront / Wave Guided are the "customized" versions of Lasik/PRK

I know, I'm seeing a very small decrease in halos at night already which is a plus. It's just tough waiting. I had lasik and I hear of stories about people testing at 20/15 on both eyes one day post op and no night time side effects, so that kind of freaked me out a bit. The other thing is my right eye was 20/15 day after and my left 20/20 minus 2. I guess I just need to be patient and hope my left eye comes around soon.

the best thing post-op is FREQUENT use of eyedrops (per DR orders) and SLEEP SLEEP SLEEP

also 1000 MG Vitamin C every day, for 6 months minimum

Did you do flax seed and fish oil? My doctor has had me on that for three weeks now. Also restasis pred forte and oxlocin, but I'm getting off the antibiotic and steroid in three days. Thanks for the respone. I have been trying to get 8-9 hours a day with occasional naps.

I did the fish oil (for the Omega-3's) and had 20/15 within a month for PRK.

This is an interesting thread... I would like to see contributors include their age , near or far sighted and if they have astigmatism . I have presbyopia and astigmatism and over 50. Does anyone out there have these conditions and has done the surgery after 50 yo. My ophthalmologist says LASIK has just recently evolved to include treatments for my condition. Thanks.

I was 36. I had astigmatism. 20/140 left. 20/160 right.
Currently 20/15 two years later with no side effects after PRK.

I was (am) 40, was 20/30 with a pretty strong astigmatism. Was near sighted. Was 20/10 at two months, but am 20/15 now. Zero halos at night.

Thanks for the info! What doc did you use and how did you pick him?

I'll have to look him up. It was done at TLC Eye Center in Tampa, FL. The doctor actually wrote the manual on the PRK machine. He's done over 10,000 procedures (that was in 2012) with only 1 single touch up to do a minor correction.

I let my 2 Southwest pilot friends be his guinea pigs first, and after they turned out ok then I went in.
