Default Ankle surgery

Twisted my ankle a few weeks ago. Will be getting ankle ligament reconstruction surgery soon. Recovery 6-8 weeks..??? Just wondering what steps I should take as far as the medical goes. Contact my AME? Any help you fellow aviators have is greatly appreciated. Thank you. Can't wait to get back in the air!

I had knee surgery years ago. Once it was time to renew my 1st class med, I just stated on the form that I was admitted to a hospital for such-and-such surgery. Too date, I've only had one AME check for mobility (very limited check, btw). As for contacting an AME, I can't say yes or no...better off with a professionals opinion. Good luck with the surgery.
