I’m totally on that wavelength. Just trying to get a rough idea. I see all these “flew 85 hours and billed 120 hours” posts.

65 hours a month x 12, less vacation, less displacements, less training events. They don’t pay enough to work more.

  • Ignoring the first year, how many hours is the average line-holding FO logging per year? With how many days off?
First year, including all but the first two weeks of training= 585. Was trying to build fast but displacements really hurt. Probably lost ~ 150-200 flying hours. Second year so far, 4.5 months=201 hrs scheduling 80-85/month. WX cancels and displacements have hurt that a lot.

  • How much could an FO log if they wanted to maximize their time-building?
83.3 hrs/month = 1000 max/year. Very doable and sustainable. 90+ hrs (flown, not credit) I find exhausting if I want a life outside the job.

  • Ignoring a year that includes upgrade training, how many hours is the average line-holding CA logging per year?

Thanks in advance for any input!
