That was a finance error. For a fact that's being corrected.

And they are part of the problem.

PSA will not increase pay until they HAVE TO!

As long as new-hire pilots keep showing up to class, and as long as pilots successfully upgrade, (thanks to an unbelievably boneheaded move by our less-than-brilliant M.E.C.), there will be no pay raises.

If PSA management wanted to match Endeavor pay, they would have done it a long time ago. But they haven't. What does that tell you?

If they had a crystal ball that said pay wouldn’t be going up for another year or so they wouldn’t have applied when they did. I’m starting to feel guilty that I led them on. I also know several others that are on the edge of coming to the 121 world, but the pay just isn’t quite there yet.
Let this be a lesson...

Spreading rumors about good things around the corner only serves to help staff and actually REDUCES the POSSIBILITY of such rumors coming true. You are actually hurting the pilot group by spreading "good news" rumors.

Do not believe rumors about good things coming. Believe only what has been negotiated and released. And believe that only to the extent it is written in iron-clad, loophole-free language.

Pressure your MEC reps to bargain hard and hold the company accountable. Explain that radio silence for over six months is not acceptable. Ask where the new reserve rules are that were promised to be delivered months ago.

Staffing and growth is actually NOT the job of the union. It is the job of the company. If the company wants to grow in an era of tightening pilot supply, they need to pay up AND increase quality of life for all of its labor groups. The union's job is to fight for the best for ALL of the pilots already here.

[End rant.]

You'd think ALPA would have a good contract lawyer or two on staff, but apparently not.
