DCA was American’s 3rd most profitable hub... When business travelers were traveling. Now? I’m not sure where it stands in terms of profitability. Though I’m sure anything other than DFW and CLT aren’t looking great.
I think with a new administration taking office there is reasonable expectation that traffic to DCA will increase through the spring and summer. If it increases to a point that maintaining a base makes sense, we will. If it doesn’t increase to that point then I’m sure a decision will be made. If we reach that point though there will be much bigger fish to fry than DCA closing.
