Default Commuter Policy

Curious if PSA has a commuter policy? Any paid commuter hotels?

Thanks!

2 hotel rooms provided per month. Other than that you're on your own. Good luck commuting with the reserve rules around here.

Yes, you need 2 flights before show time.

2 hotels per month, but request needs to be 24 hr prior so a last second change of plans is not covered

Got it. Thanks for the helpful info. Would you say that the lines are commutable in CLT or PHL?

I’m a senior line holder. The commutability of trips has become a lot worse recently as regional flying is quasi-collapsing. Trips that used to be commutable are now not commutable. Basically, plan to come in the night prior or stay a night late. One end is typically uncommutable somewhere unless you’re senior enough or lucky enough in the SAP to cherry pick flying.

It will get worse too.

I imagine the airline will be forced to start positive spacing commuters for their second flight simply out of a need to get crews in position especially as the schedule implodes over the summer. Even with that I don't see how there won't be more reductions in flying, constant critical, junior manning, and cancelations due to crew availability this summer.

These LOA's sent to the wholly owneds have confirmed that AA 100% is holding all QOL improvements tied to PBS. So instead of slowing attrition they simply confirmed that the time for "latteral moves" is right now.

It'll be interesting to see how AA manages in CLT, PHL, and DCA when PSA runs out of Captains.

What QOL improvements was PSA offered?

Are you serious? Literally nothing. That’s why everyone is heading for the exit.

If you give up SAP we will give you exactly nothing in exchange?

PSA Management currently has no one on the MEC with the ability or desire to be the company advocate, so nothing will get done.

The brain trust in DAY has proven themselves incapable of actual negotiation for years now, and have reduced themselves to being messengers for DFW. DF might as well move back and mumble incoherently about PBS during painfully scripted town halls from there.
