Stand Strong PSA!
Sorry if this has already been covered, but rumor is US Air, after the failed attempt of a B-Scale at Eagle, is now coming to PSA for concessions in exchange for shiny jets. If this is the case, stand strong over there guys. We can't give anymore.

It better not if we have to give up a single cent

No one knows anything. Anyone else to say other wise is speculating at the very least. I hope the NC at PSA and their pilots do what's best for them. From the email it sounds like nothing was said by USairways at all. So to come here and say cuts were asked for is trying to stir the pot for some unknown reason?

If they are not offering more to fly bigger airplanes, it's an effective pay cut.

I like your positive attitude, I really do. But you need to look at the facts. Your airline already has a pay scale for 76 seaters and you just recently signed a contract. US Airways management said that they are not guaranteeing airplanes unless said regional is willing to reduce cost trending towards Pinnacle. So PSA unless you have Pinnacle cost structure as far as pay rates you will be asked for concessions. And please don't fall for the whole B scale fiasco, because it will become the scale for current pilots along with new hires. By the end of next week this thread will be singing a different song one way or the other.

Making an LOA to allow extra IOE or withholding of lines for training etc would require such. That wouldn't mean concessions etc. Asking for help to recruit pilots from our group to staff planes could also be asked for. Changing the job progression clause to suit the new AA would require meeting. I can think of as many reasons not negative as I can positive. So again to come here saying, "I hear PSA was asked for concessions" is again nothing but a move to stir the pot.
But sure, they're probably talking to you guys because they want you all to flow to mainline on monday with your current pay step. |
