PSA Updates

Trying to start a new thread about PSA. Junior bases, reserve times, are they able to fill classes etc.

I'd like to keep the flaming out, and keep this thread an adult one.

Haha trying is a good word.

TYS and DAY is junior compared to CLT. Shouldn't take more than 6 months on reserve. Some guys are getting build up lines a month or two out of training but it's all timing plus we're coming up on our slow season. As far as I know, most classes are quite full. A class every two weeks is the norm.

How many does a full class make?

The class that started last week was apparently 34. Not sure if it was all pilots or some dispatchers/sim instructors.

How do the mainline guys treat you? I remember jumpseating with an eagle/envoy guy in the FD. The A321 guys were really commending him and his pilot group on the backbone they were showing. Just curious if mainline AA or even Cactus has shown there own towards express? I was shocked that they actually cared about the feeders.

I'm not sure on AA side but half the guys on Airways don't even know or care who PSA is except the ones who used to fly for the original PSA. They're just very nice and professional to any jumpseaters. They have a real job with real pay and doesn't bicker online like many of us. The ones that are in the know sympathize with us since they've had to deal with Parker for the last ten years as well. Remember the yellow lanyards? Safety first.

I hope that Envoy pilot you were jumpseating with at least got a recommendation from the AA pilots. Otherwise it's just useless words to keep the time flying in the FD.

A mainline jump seater asked the other day, "so, what airline are you?" I think some guys are in the loop while others arent. I have been treated well while jump seating

This is true. I jumpseat twice a week with mainline and they are just fantastic and professional. Usually the FOs know who PSA is, Capts will say "Oh yeah you guys drive those little RJs around CLT right? It's not NASCAR... slow down!"
