Respectfully, 39%

LoL it's nothing personal to the new guy. The most important quality is that you can fly the crap out of the plane if it deems necessary. Second most important trait is that the other guy or girl won't want to strangle you in the hotel room after the first day. As an FO, you don't really have a choice but to go along with the tone that is set by the captain. Without arguing right or wrong, unless the captain breaks the rules blatantly or is putting the lives of passengers and crew in danger, it's hard for the FO to speak up. However it's worse to go behind the captain's back and report the captain to pro standards and the company. At least have the decency to confront the person in a non threatening and professional manner. Most will respect that a lot more... most...

There are a FEW captains that I want to stick their heads in the APU exhaust after few legs but those d bags aren't too common.

I don't disagree with you. However, going to HR instead of just politely asking the instructor(s) to tone it down wasn't the right thing to do. On day one, they had no idea if this would of potentially put the instructors job in jeapordy or if it would of been laughed off by HR. There is a proper way to do things and that isn't it.

Who said I went to HR?

You went through all of training THEN said something?

If it made you that uncomfortable even though you admittedly do it yourself why didn't you say something to them? I'm sure they would've done their best to keep it in check in front of you.

"professionalism" would've been doing the above, not putting someone's job in jeopardy because you think they aren't projecting the right "image." Don't make this something it isn't.

Did you actually do this in person to HR or did you do it anonymously through one of those evaluation forms?

Edit: looks like CRR beat me to it.

Yikes, once again who said I went to HR? I filled out the Eval forms w/ my opinion of what I thought was good & what I thought could be improved. It doesn't bother me personally, BUT it doesn't project the correct image. Definitely not worth my time to call HR or fly to Dayton.

SUX, Dingus, Skyxbomb...seriously? we're jumping to defcon 3 over this?

I didn't say you did. That is apparently what the new hire did.

I did the same last year by commenting on the course evaluation. Obviously, the excessive use of profanity in classroom training is not a problem for the company because they allow it to continue. It is unprofessional.

Haha no it's just a good word of advice for folks that's never been in multi crew environment. And I'm referring to the rat who went straight to HR. Obviously this wasn't you then.

So you guys are attacking people for mentioning that there is a little too much cussing in airline INDOCTRINATION? Another example of the class at PSA. Way to set a good standard right out of the gate.

If I was a new hire I would be grossly offended. Now I am not exactly a non confrontational individual so I would probably get up in the instructors face about it. Generally though, new hires don't want to rock the boat and that is EXACTLY why there are comment forms.

If one of these new hires went up to the IP and said sometbing how do you think it would go?
"Oh gee shucks thanks cadet bob! I had no idea I was dropping an F bomb every other sentence".
No. Their little "egos" will be insulted and it will likely all blow up in cadet bobs face.

Give me a break. I am simply disgusted that this is going on at airline INDOCTRINATION and that you senior(laugh) guys are grilling the individuals that are bringing it up. Pagey just went after a guy that didn't even say he went to HR.

Do you guys have an impromptu session on how to score with drunk flight attendants too?

(Facepalm)
What is wrong with society today?

Oh because I think that excessive cussing by PSA instructors is ridiculously inappropriate and extremely unprofessional, you have decided I am a girls vagina? More professionalism from the PSA kiddos. Children, I'll tell ya:(

Do we even have mods here anymore?
