It is unprofessional, you wouldn't hear that at Delta, United, or AA indoc class and it isn't cool anymore either. Commenting on the course eval sheet is the right thing to do, eventually someone is going to get really offended and it is going to end badly. Don't take the machismo route and say people are being Ps. If you repeated some of that stuff in any Fortune 500 company you would be disciplined or fired pretty quickly. That is just the world we live in today and if you don't have the self awareness to know that maybe you don't need to be teaching indoc. Elevate your humor beyond 6th grade locker room talk because it is possible to be funny without demeaning certain groups of people, some of which may be in the new hire class.

Wow this cracks me up to no end. The last 4 pages have been about a rumor that someone might have been offended and might have talked to hr. You guys crack me up. Carry on!

If I was a new hire I would be grossly offended. Now I am not exactly a non confrontational individual so I would probably get up in the instructors face about it. Generally though, new hires don't want to rock the boat and that is EXACTLY why there are comment forms.

If one of these new hires went up to the IP and said sometbing how do you think it would go?
"Oh gee shucks thanks cadet bob! I had no idea I was dropping an F bomb every other sentence".
No. Their little "egos" will be insulted and it will likely all blow up in cadet bobs face.

Give me a break. I am simply disgusted that this is going on at airline INDOCTRINATION and that you senior(laugh) guys are grilling the individuals that are bringing it up. Pagey just went after a guy that didn't even say he went to HR.

Do you guys have an impromptu session on how to score with drunk flight attendants too?

(Facepalm)
What is wrong with society today?

Please, we are all adults.

If something bothers you it can be brought up without telling someone's superiors first.

What exactly would you say when you "got up in his face".....

You people are acting like we are in church.

Lastly, I didn't "go after" anyone. I called him out for going to a higher before talking to the offending party about it......Which he did.

I for one found it all entertaining in class, made the class so much more fun and less dry. You guys are crying about nothing, good group of people there.

I disagree.

I have no problem with someone being offended. I personally would not be but if that's your thing so be it.

I have issue with the fact that this person for lack of a better word......tattle taled before bringing it up in a courteous manner to the offending party.

Don't act like legacy guys are all angels either because that crap is always brought up....."AA wouldn't do that"......Right.

I jumpseat VERY often. Some of the conversations in the front of ALL legacy carriers acft would make my sailor grandfather blush. Yes, even DELTA.

Pilot Sharp 02-17-2015 06:46 AM

For the benefit of the new PSA pilots who may not know this, there is a PSA Pilots only forum set up through ALPA. There is a lot of usefull information regarding bidding and the use of SAP.

To get set up:
- log in to your ALPA account
- select My MEC/LEC from the drop down menue top left corner
- select PSA MEC
- click web Forum Tab right middle side of the screen.
- this will show you the alpa email where you need to send you full name PSA#, ALPA#.
- you will be sent the hyperlink and your username and password to log in for the first time.

I hope this helps!

Disagree all you want but it is true, you wouldn't hear some of the stuff I heard in PSA's indoc at the majors. I have been flying 121 for ten years and been on every every major airline jumpseat multiple times and yes you will hear that stuff on the flightdeck but not in your first day of indoc from an instructor so that really isn't a valid comparision. I know you love PSA and feel the need to defend them all of the time but some of us have an outside perspective beyond just the old mom and pop operation. I have seen people kicked out of the training department for much less in my time so feel free to say whatever you want just don't be suprised (esp in the year 2015) that some of it may come back to bite you. Having a little self awareness goes a long way.

Called out - go after , whatever.

My point is valid and you know it.

I don't think we are adults at all. That is very obvious. Adults know how to be professional and set a standard. After all, many of the people in your indoc classes are barely in the adult world as far as age, and are very impressionable. I love how you guys all rush to play damage control when yet another embarrassing feature of PSA comes out. It only makes you look more unprofessional.

Bottom line: if your indoc IPs are cussing so much that it has come up on an Internet forum, by several people that have both like and disliked it, then you have a problem. Stop trying to cover it up and address it. Calling people names, bashing them for not bringing it up to the individual directly, and posting silly memes, really is just your usual form of misdirection.

Whatever you have seen in the cockpit of legacy carriers is not the same as in an indoc class. I can assure you it does not go on at Envoy either. We have rules here that would get you fired for cussing your heart out on indoc. I simply cannot believe you are defending it in ANY way.
