100 FOs that have passed upgrade but have the time? Ohhhhkay. And that is a good thing for a new hire to hear even if true? Come on.

Nah brah I am a Pats fan, just too easy of a joke to pass up. If I said your numbers are more off than a Russel Wilson goaline pass you would still play devil's advocate. Do you want me to put in a letter of rec for you lol?

There will also be something called attrition that you have not counted for either. My buddy is a sim instructor here, they are being told that that quick upgrades will be around for quite some time and anyone with the required time can expect a 6-8 month upgrade for the next two years and now probably well into 2017. For anyone else you will basicjally be able to hold a spot in the next upgrade class when you hit 1000 hrs. In just the last two upgrade bids the jr captain spot went from March to August 2014. It is amazing how many people come on here to try and dispute the short upgrade time over here without knowing any of the facts. The staffing needed for aircraft deliveries is about 700 pilots in 2015 and 700 more in 2016 and probably 500ish in 2017 for attrition and the rest of the 700s. The stupid short upgrades have only started.......

If you have 1000 hrs part 121 time the upgrades will be around 6 months.

With this news, I gotta wonder when a new base announcement is coming...unless CLT is just going to be a HUUUUGGGEEEE base!

PSA will be parking all of their 50 seat aircraft. Stagnation is coming.

Well let's consider that:
PSA has 1100 pilots right now and originally had a mix of 49 CRJs. Plus 30 900s. Plus 47 700s. Plus 24 900s.
So total fleet now going to 150 aircraft.

Figure 13 pilots per plane, so 1950 pilots total. If it is only 11 pilots per plane like many other regionals right now, 1650. So at best, 850 pilots more is what they need, 550 at worst. That is right seat hiring my friend.

Let's say you get hired today, your class date will be some time around late April, seniority around 1250. When will you make Captain? You need to get to number 925, or 325 numbers right? PSA said their attrition was around 100 last year. Let's say this year they get an increase in flow and their attrition is 150. It will take a little over 2 years to upgrade. That isn't too bad. Every month will add another year to upgrade basically.

The super fast, less than a year upgrade, going on for people in he right spot right now, IS gone. PSA will have a decent upgrade if hired before may or so, IMHO.

He's right. The 6 month upgrade for new hires, without prior 121 experience is now gone.

That's why newbies should go to Republic, SkyWest, Expressjet, or envoy where the upgrades will come in 7 - 10 years, ....... instead of 2.

Yes, that's sarcasm, for those of you who don't recognize it when you see it.
