Quote: No kidding. 404XYL is extremely ill-informed.
It's amazing how quickly the cracks are starting to show at PSA. All of the recruiters and pilots over there, who are desperate to fill in spots behind them for their upgrade needs, are out in full force.

Not only will the 50 seat aircraft get parked much sooner than PSA is letting on, the CRJ-700 aircraft from Envoy is very much at risk to come over at a much slower pace or get cancelled all together. The leaked memo from the PSA MEC is very telling on their issues over there.

If the perception changes, they will find themselves in a Endeavor type situation.

Exactly. Only those with 1000 hours of 121 time will see the "quick upgrade" at PSA. In all likelihood, those hired with 0 121 time are looking at a much longer upgrade time.

Especially once they realize what happens when the parking of the PSA 50 seat aircraft get announced and the Envoy 700's don't come over as planned.

i suspect they won't let any fo's upgrade if they can just hire enough street captains and keep more people out of training and on the line

Even worse for the fo's over at PSA. The problem they will run into now is if any Envoy pilots come over to staff their planes, that will cause a disruption in the American system since the Envoy pilot would be off the line for 3-6 months.

They need a surplus of pilots to transfer airplanes in this environment, which they don't have.

Quote: No one doubts that the 700's are leaving Envoy for the simple reason that single type operators are more efficient and will save AAG money. The 900's were delivered exactly on schedule and the first 700 is being prepared to be delivered now. It will be here this month.

Anything can happen. Another terrorist attack can happen which shuts air travel down like in 2001, the retirement age can be increased to 70, and the ATP minimums could be lowered to 250 hours again. These would all completely change the game. It is impossible to play "what if" for every scenario. The intelligent thing to do is figure out the motivation for each move and then use that as your guide. AAG wants CRJ's at one company and Embraers at another company because it makes financial sense. Period.

When were "ATP minimums at 250 hours"?

They have to. Any time there is a vacancy for open positions, like an aircraft delivery, there is a opportunity for senior FOs to be awarded captain spots before street captains.

Tell him congrats, we need as many pilots as we can get. Currently we are upgrading FO's with the time right out of IOE to Captain. Does he have time on the CRJ? Which airline is he coming from Envoy?

You obviously have never seen the reserve grid for FOs in CLT which is currently showing 40+ available right now.

You apparently don't have the math skills to figure out that we have currently flying pilots for our original fleet plus the initial 900 deliveries, and another 300 in the training process behind that.

You really haven't been paying attention to the fact that we're getting 25 pilots showing up to class every two weeks.

A shortage of pilots is the exact opposite of what's going on around here, but what we do have is a shortage of Captains and LCAs.

You're very much entitled to your own opinion, but you're not entitled to your own facts.

He has two other screen names on this board which means he mainly just talks to himself.
