Would make more sense with the same X axis.

I doubt it was free. That article reads like a press release.

And for every retirement there are at least 3 pilots competing for that opening. There is no shortage. There never will be.

There are? And where do you get that information or is just what you feel?

There won't be 3 pilots competing for each pilot slot at the 3 legacies. They will all be hired. Including all the other groups of pilots that were mentioned. Don't forget about Southwest, Alaska, FedEx, UPS. Big picture my friend. There aren't enough pilots.

Airlinepilotcentral.com my friend. Total up the number of pilots at all the regional airlines and then take that number and compare it to the number of retirements from the big 3 over the next 10 years. Then factor in pilots at LCCs and the military that all want to get hired and youll discover there are more than enough pilots.

You are assuming every pilot wants to go to a legacy.

This.
Took the words right out of my mouth.
Not every regional pilot wants to move on anywhere. There are many that have no intention of going anywhere else so long as they aren't forced to.
I would say even this applies to even more LCC pilots.

Aren't there 20000 retirements at the big 3 and 18,000 regional pilots? Those are really the only two numbers you can use. Do you have a number for military pilots available per year? I also know many many LCC guys who have no desire to ever go to a legacy. So, again, where you getting 60,000 pilots?

And I wouldn't be surprised at all if somewhere around 20-25% of regional pilots don't want to move on either.
