Because it's all "worse". Because we should still be under contract 2001.

Default Entitlement?

After a company goes into bankruptcy to restructure, you should still be on not only the pre-bancruptcy pay scale, but the pre 9-11 one as well??? How does that work exactly? This is all starting to sound a little bit like entitlement to me. Pay before 9-11 was very high. Not saying that pilots do not deserve it, but take the good when you can get it and expect the bad to be around the corner...especially in an industry that mirrors the economy as closely as ours does. As the industry starts to come back around, which it seems like it is, negotiations can swing back into the favor of the employees, but expecting a company on the verge of, or actually in bankruptcy to honor a pre bankruptcy contract is a little bit narrow minded and self righteous if you ask me. Not siding with the company completely, but when you back them into a corner, you may not like what you get out of it. Hate my comments, as I am sure you will, but all of this talk seems a little greedy to me.

Imposed contract i am looking at 5.16 dollars an hour cut. With the TA, I'm looking at a $2.78 an hour cut. At 75 hours a month that is the difference between losing $387 a month and $208.5 a month. So about a 46% reduction in my paycut between.

Saving a $178.50 a month isn't much, but that could be the difference in someone being able to keep a car or apartment. If they were to impose and it took ONLY 2 years to negotiate a new contract, I would lose a minimum of 4300 dollars. (That isn't counting the year of longevity is gained back with the TA right away. So it is probably closer to 5000dollars lost.)

So whatever got negotiated from the imposed terms would have to be pretty good to restore the 4300 I lost over the 2 years of negotiations. I just don't have to see that happening.

My vote was cast a couple days ago.

as a response to 82.5 mil claim. When the claim is sold for whatever amount certainly not 82.5 mil. we have no idea on how it is going to be divided. I should be at a rate of 80.41 per hour, I am frozen at 72.40, the new TA puts me at 66.79 and the imposed puts me at 65.65, minus some other things insurance wise. So all in all it is a 15% pay cut for a company that made 50 million dollars. Just because everyone else out there is too afraid to stand up and stop this BS, doesn't mean I should take a pay cut. Now for those of you that want to work for poor wages and conditions feel free to work in a place like that. I am taking a stand and no longer am going to be raped of my dignity...and professionalism..SO MR CHARTER, DO YOU THINK I SHOULD ROLL OVER AND TAKE THIS CUT? IF SO I HOPE I DONT SEE YOU AT COMAIR.

Also in reagerds to this bk claim...United had one of these in their restructured contract. Guess what....they got a fraction (not a good fraction either) of the advertised price, and I believe they are still tied up in legal battles over the mess. NOTHING has been paid. For any other Comair person out there...do not vote for this because of the bk claim. Vote as if the claim is not even there!

I would much rather go for the imposed terms (force their hand, force them to do this) and start section 6 once we exit bk, than vote in a TA because it was the "better option". The situation sux, but I'm tired of dealing with the bs of management not running the airline.
