Granted...now here is the scenario...do you think that the recent purchase of Mesaba the Pinnacle will get phased out...like CA did to XJT. Mesaba are supposed to get 36 CRJ-900 and with the recent red ink that NWA is doing I think that they might subsitutue Pinnacles routes to save money. That's why Pinnacle purchased Colgan to hide the fact that they will be losing money from NWA contracts. I could be wrong though. But I did look at both of those companies and hard. They are options.

It's pretty safe to say there is no such thing as job security in the airlines.

Pinnacle just renewed their contract with NWA through like 201X...They'll be there for a while.

EDITED- Agreement makes Pinnacle a long term partner through 2017.

Hell if you have a sugar momma and you live in MSP its really a no brainer. Pinnacle might not be in the top 2 or 3 companies money wise out there but living at home is worth its weight in Gold... I would gladly take a buck or 2 less an hour for the priveledge of driving home after work. I do it backwards I work for CAL and I live in Jersey hence the automatic pay cut.

Mesaba should also be hiring too pretty soon.
Good Luck

I would go to SKYW and commute to ORD. That's an easy 1 hr commute on NWA/UAL.

I am on the outside, trying to get in so do with this what you will. But, I hear that Pinnacle is still trying to get pilots that meet their 1000/100 published minimums. However, since that has been a struggle lately, they have "soft minimums" that extend somewhat lower, with the approval of the chief pilot. The 250-400 hour guys/gals are from the bridge programs, I think.

I am a new CFI with 700/85 and and a friend who is an FO and is willing to walk my resume in. However, he has also told me that I could just submit my stuff to them blind and likely get a call.

if you are relocating to MSP, perhaps you should look into Compass...

MSP is a fairly senior base. But you will have it very soon after training. A guy just did a fam flight on one of my turns and he will be based in dtw till the end of april, and then he got msp in may. so he will only have to wait 2 months to get there, and he is a new hire.
