Default Logging airline flying time

How do you guys log time when on line, do you just log block? Do you keep track of all the N numbers?

block time, N number, inst, night, and type of approach (ie ILS 35L Cat II) because you need to have some kind of proof of how many instrument approaches (and cat II) youve flown within the past xxx months.

The approaches are not required for 121 currency, but I log them to try and maintain my 91 currency (I usually don't get quit enough).

Buffalo,

You log your flight time just like you would in a small GA plane, seminole let say.

Date/Type/N #/From-To/Total time/Inst/Night/Approach/Landing

Most pilots log brake release to brake set. That means time the A/C is moving under its own power (includes delays, taxi, ect).

Check http://airlinepilotmentor.com/logbookadvice.aspx

and see what the regs say. You will need this info when you upgrade to captain at some point in the future. Most pilots get a small red logbook for day to day use and then transfer it to the main logbook at home. I would NOT reccomend carrying your actual logbook to work, ever.

Good Luck

I don't think so...everybody would DQ between APR and NOV.

Maybe for CA's, since they do the actual landing, but their 6 month sim ride would take care of that.

Yes it's in the FAR's. I'm not 100% but I believe you still need 6 approaches of which 3 need to be ILS to CAT II mins and one of those approaches can use a coupler. It's in the ATP written I'll check. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. ON that note it's st. Patrick's day and in Acuna is the biggest day of the year w00t!!

Is that 121 or 91?

Other than 3 T/O & LDG's every 90 days most 121 operators don't have proficiency requirements other than what the recurrent sim covers (I've never done 3 cat II's in sim).
