Nobody thinks that such equipment should be in good working order? If it were a little old lady that had two cups of coffee waiting for her flight she should just hold it? There are some passenger comforts that should NOT be eliminated as we dive to the bottom of industry with such tactics to save a nickel.

I have just one word on this topic:

Klante!

(If that makes no sense, disregard. It's an inside joke...)

i flew with a captain who included in his PA announcement that if you ABSOLUTELY had to go when the seat belt sign is on, then go ahead and run to the lavatory and do so. not sure why he would mention something like that, maybe this type of thing happened to him before. i thought it was awfully nice of him

I'm not 100% certain on this, but given that the route was going to SLC I'm gonna say that it's very likely that the plane was in Delta livery.

Speak for yourself. If I had two big beers, I would have had to go too!

He'll probably sue the airline now for PTSD.

seriously if you can't be responsible enough to go to the restroom before the flight... How old are we?

Commuter flights today are not always short, and if it was smooth at the time and he expected the lav to be operative than I see no reason he should not have been able to go. I myself have made announcements at the gate that because of weather or turbulence the seatbelt sigh may remain illuminated for much of the flight. If the passengers were so warned then I can see how the crew could be bothered. But there was no mention that the passengers knew that the aircraft facilities were inop.In fact he used it before the plane took-off. The captain inoped it because of a '"'Light". I don’t see how everyone expect the passenger to be responsible for the airlines inability to maintain proper maintenance of their aircraft. And what if there were a child on board, should he/she be expected to 'hold it'?

HAHAHAHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! We'll just keep that one to oursleves.

If you've flown for a real regional (i.e. turboprops) you've probably had this happen before and even encouraged it as opposed to someone ****ing on the floor.

We held over Laramie for an hour and a half one day and one guy just decided to stand up, pull it out, and relieve himself all over the seat. I would've preferred the sack. Something the RJ crowd may not quite fathom.
