3rd yr FO TOTAL: $88,400
10 yr TOTAL: $417,872? WOW without Per Diem

* Q400 FO 5 years, Q2/3 CA first upgrade
* R – Reserve paid at 75 hrs/mnth x 10.4 bid periods/yr
* Numbers based upon a former Horizon friends of mine
* Yrs not on reserve are calculated at 85 hours per month seeing this is a regional industry average for line holders
* BEST case scenario for reserve and upgrade!
* Unsure of when a JR CA can hold Q400 or CR7 for higher pay.

* Not counting Quarterly Bonuses after yr 2, CA about 4-5K+/yr
* WORST case scenario for reserve & upgrade!
* Yrs not on reserve at calculated at 85 hours per month seeing this is a regional industry average for line holders

* If any Horizon pilots (& ONLY HORIZON PILOTS) feel that I'm wrong about horizon’s #’s, I APOLOGIZE, please correct and explain correction.

Thank You, just trying to prove a point. My point is that your PAY isn't what people make it out to be.
Starting pay for a Seattle Police Officer is $3200 per month with little to no college, outside training or experience. In ten years it is not difficult to reach over 85K and you are half way to retirement.

Lots of talk on this forum about comparing a pilots salary to a bus drivers, so I thought I would check it out:

First year bus driver in Calgary makes a guaranted $27,000 a year(60 hour guarantee at $19 an hour) .
First year Jazz FO makes $35,000 first year flat guarentee(tho jazz must pay by far the most of any north american regional year 1
bus drivers max out at $41,000 here after 4 years... a jazz 4 year FO makes $44,000

Its still frusterating that the high school drop out loading bags onto the Jazz RJ makes more then the FO flying it does!

my mans right, its like the people that are "starving" actors we all take the sacrifice in hopes of one day "making it big" ie. SWA UPS, etc............... In reality we spend a majority of our career making less than than people with no education, I hope it works out for all of us................but let me ask you this Whos career is on the line with every clearance, dispatch release etc.................. certainly not a Financial Advosor etccccccccccccccc
