actually I got asked a few tech Qs, check out aviationinterviews.com there's more info on there
Oops I responded before I saw the word "phone" in there. the phone interview is definitely nothing to worry about basically all yes or no Qs.

Didn't interview with ASA yet...... Just got the call today to set up for the interview in ATL..... Joe Butterfield is really nice! When he asked if I had failed a checkride, any speeding tickets, or anything like that, and I said NOPE. Hes like "WHOA girl live a little" haha! I might go down there the first week of may. Get the application packet back to them as SOON as possible. Its a pain, but do it! I overnighted mine, and got a call the next day!!! GOOD LUCK!

From: Part 121, 135 & Military background
I've read this whole thread, here's my advice from ASA line Captain....
Apply as soon as you can, get hired as soon as you can. Seniority is everything. With that said, go get your CFI-I and teach. When I left the military I thought I knew everything about flying. 800 hours of dual given later, I was an infinetly better pilot.
What background best prepares you? Doesn't matter. Just go out there and get a job flying. If someone is paying you to fly, then the experience you gain has value.
As a captain, when you do the meet the crew brief, if the FO has 400 hours and no CFI, or no 135 experience, just got his/her ratings and then flew a little to get to the 500 mark. Well, then I know I'm in for a long day. If the FO says, they have 1200, 1500 hours, they flew checks at night, they CFIed, or Flew some charter stuff, then my comfort level goes up a thousand fold.
I'm not trying to talk down to anyone, but rather let you know how you are going to be perceived on the line.

That guy was cool to talk to. He is the guy that did my phone interview. Asked me if I had any felonies etc... I said "Nothing worth bragging about"
and he about choked on his coffee laughing. I gotta send that packet in myself still, I am still deciding whether to jump in or get a few hundred more hours. I am leaning towards getting some more experience first.
