Default Upgrade Times

Hi Y'all. I am wondering if anyone can chime in on the CURRENT upgrade times for Pinnacle AND American Eagle. I interview at both in about 1-2 weeks, and although I love the idea of a BOS base, I'm worried I'll be sitting for years on end until an upgrade comes. Any other chatter anyone wants to add about the two prospective companies is more than welcome. Thanks in advance.

Upgrade at Pinnacle is very fast if you have the hours. 3500 or 3000 including 500 in type. If you are hired with that amount of time or close to it you should be upgrading in months. American Eagle have among the longest times for upgrade of the Reginals 4 to 7 years from what I have heard.................

Eagle is the worst, but they claim they are getting better since they are recalling the mainline guys.

Unless you have ATP mins upgrade times shouldn't matter right? Well actually most regionals require a great deal more than the mins, so just pick the one closest to home. That should make your stay on RSV and later trips much more liveable.

Definitely. Our BOS base is a good one, great flying and crews. AE is having a job fair up here near the logan airport on the 31st of March where they will be interviewing and all. They allow you to pick your base before you come to training, so you would be guaranteed to be based in BOS.

Who cares . . . . concentrate on gaining valuable experience in the right seat. Upgrade will come in due time. When it comes you'll more than likely have the skill, experience and decision making experience necessary to become a captain. Until then . . . just chill out and take it as it comes, you cannot rush wisdom.

Average time running at about 24 months at most regionals, and the ones that are not are catching up quickly. One of my good friends flies for Eagle, he was telling me that they're anticipating time to come down significantly in the next couple of years to as low as 3-4 years...for eagle that's low!

Like a couple of folks said here, enjoy the right seat, cause it goes by quickly and before you know it you'll be there.
