Anyone know what the training pay (if any) at Pinnacle is? Is it double occupancy during training? What costs does a new hire incur during training (i.e. Jepps, uniform, etc.)?

$200 per week during training, our class had single occupancy. half of the uniform is paid for. $20 taken out per check or every other check ( i can't remember)

200 bucks a week, its perdiem so its tax free (ie they actually just give you a check for 200 dollars every friday.) hotel varies some get single, some get double,, not sure how that all works out. as far as everything else you don't have to pay for. Jepps are free, uniform is half allowance but you don't have to pay any money up front, its 20 bucks every other pay check,, and guess what, they give you a 15 dollar uniform maint allowance every other check, so you really only have to pay very little for your uniform. all you have to pay for is your food, and every so often the company will order food for the guys in training, the good ole greasy pizza from alpa, sandwiches, or bbq from corkys,, hmmm hmmm good.

Wow. It sounds fairly overwhelming that Pinnacle is the way to go. Im a native of the Boston area, so thats the only hang up. I would really like to be New England again. What are the chances of commuting with Pinnacle? What bases are they likely to give newbies?

Ask around, this is a known phenomenon, ESPECIALLY when pilots are in demand. If the VP of AE can't meet his flight schedule due to pilot turnover, he will ask the AMR CEO to tell the AA VP to stop stealing his pilots. This has been observed at other airlines also, too much poaching of pilots from your own regional system is shooting yourself in the foot...much better to poach from your COMPETITOR's regional system.

Not to say you can't move up in your own system, just that many majors try not to do too much of that.

This is true, as we have seen at XJET. Continental at times has asked to hire more people from XJET and they have said NO because they can't handle the hiring and training as a result of the attrition. Its BS but it happens. I don't think the AE/AA flowthrough will get renewed anyway, they are a thing of the past.

Also a $500 bonus 6 months after checkride.

I have a buddy sitting reserve in Boston with Eagle, who says he hardly ever flies. As was said, you could get Detroit easily with Pinnacle, and be flying all the time, and upgrade much quicker.
