If Eagle is letting new hires pick their base and equip, how does that work? Wouldn't you think that everyone would pick the CRJ in DFW or ORD? That sounds too good to be true......

I believe either they say "here are your choices, pick one" or they wait to call you for a class until your choice is available. Someone explained it to me but I can't remember exactly how it worked. Any eaglettes out there have better info?

Yep, its true. Told them I wanted BOS and I start Mon. Seems pretty straight forward, didn't have to wait. Though I hear they have trouble filling BOS. What I have been hearing on eagle lounge is if want DFW or LAX its the saab, MIA SJU or the ATR, and anything is the erj. Hope that helps. Good luck

You would think but the reality is if you choose the CRJ in DFW or ORD you will be on reserve for a long......long......time. I believe the upgrade is the longest in the CRJ since its the highest paid for capt's and most of the super senior guys/gals are sitting there. An old buddy of mine jumped at the CRJ about a year and a half ago and he still sits reserve in DFW and he thinks he will never get off. You are better off going to the Saab or ATR to get a line and someday seeing the light for Capt upgrade if you stick it out in the props.

i'm too far removed from knowing about how long you'll sit reserve, but why would anyone in their right mind bid ord. i am from chicago, so i am used to this crap: awful-cold weather, overpriced housing, a crappy football team, and one of the lousiest airports in the world(ord). and to those of you who don't agree, i've got well over 30 years experience living in this hell hole. If you do get stuck here though, the summers are awesome and the pizza is great.
