Not to moralize because I sure would take a gravy job for a while if I could get one but life is about more than money... vipers and money alone will leave you dry.

Grown up women are not interested in pilots. When a pilot has to ask them for gas money on a date they will jump to the salesman every time. Not everyone is interested in a life of poverty or shares a pilots vision of the "glory of flight".

Large financial services firms are paying large bonuses to folks fresh out of college with a B.S. in accounting, along with competitive salaries and pretty good benefits. An added plus is not all these jobs are in large east-coast cities; there are plenty of opportunities in the south, midwest, and southwest. If you already have a bachelors degree, you can take enough classes part-time to pass most states' CPA exam in 2-3 years.

If I wasn't trying to pay off my $45k in undergraduate loan principle in under 7 years I'd have started yesterday. GREAT way to make decent coin while pursuing a flying career and a stable backup plan in case of furlough or financial necessity.

Boiler is absolutely right.

I suggest all pilots find a spouse who works in financial services. Worked for me!

Women, whether grown up or not, are interested in pilots whose performance in the bedroom exceed that in the flight deck. We also like those who can obey simple commands.
