MKE base Question

First post, but long-time browser! Question...is AWAC the only airline with a base at MKE? Looking to retire from military in Milwaukee area in a couple of years, so doing a little research.

I can very well be wrong, but I believe AWA is the only airline to have a crew base there. Skywest, I believe, has a maintenance base there, so you could potentially get a lot of MKE flying with SkyWest.

Well, what the regionals look like now vs how they will be in a few years will be entirely different.

Exactly. ORF was ZW for years, now it's PSA. Honestly with how bad the MKE schedules are you'd be at home more if you were Chicago based and drove.

SkyWest had an MKE base way back in the day. Now it's just a maintenance base.

Yes, AIr Wisconsin is the one and only base there right now. However, if you live on the southern side of Milwaukee, Chicago is a very easy drive and you have a choice of about 7 Regionals there.
