Default Best to Worst - Rank the Regionals

Best to Worst - Criteria up to you since its your opinion feel free to share why.
  1. Endeavor - WO pay and contract
  2. Republic - pay and contract
  3. Envoy - WO and contract
  4. Piedmont - WO and Contract
  5. SkyWest - reputation, could easily go down several slots depending on new contract...
  6. Air Whiskey - good contract, could easily go down several slots depending on new contract...
  7. Express Jet - good contract but slowly dying
  8. CommutAir - WO, could maybe go up couple slots with Captain pay thing and their "flow" just don't know much about them
  9. PSA - WO but poor contract and weak union, growing pains
  10. Horizon - Alaska "flow", could maybe go up a slot or two, don't know much about them
  11. GoJet - don't really know much about them
  12. Compass - don't really know much about them but slowly dying?
  13. TransStates - don't really know much about them
  14. MESA - don't really know much about them but seem to be universally hated...

Could maybe add Silver somewhere in there around number 8? if you want to be home every night if that's important they do have some kind of flow thing if I remember right...

Also Elite and Via airlines are home based, so that's kind of valuable to some

Corvus seems to have great pay, no idea on contract, Alaska flying would have a certain cool factor, home every night could also be up there around number 8 if those mean anything to ya

Man it’s really funny how often and drastically this list changes over the years. Take those same airlines an arrange them as if it’s 2013. It would look totally different.

Air Whiskey just shot down their TA. Soooooo no telling how long that will take.

ExpressJet is definitely dying.

I flew with a CA that came to PSA from CommutAir. Don’t know much about it, I believe he came for flow though.

As a lineholder at PSA, with the SAP, it would probably compete with Endeavor. But yeah I’d put it right in front of SKW or next to PDT(unless you live in PHL).

Truth.

Air Whiskey and XJet would been a lot higher and Pinnacle/Mesaba Chautauqua/MidAtlantic a lot lower not that long ago.

I've been SAPing for only a year and a half. You have to build your schedule around it (missing out on good trips...) so that you can spend your two days off ( the night of and the morning/day after, so now your 85 hours 17 days off is really 15 days off... ) babysitting the computer screen. The "processing" gets worse and worse every month and it takes longer and longer and longer and longer.... I didn't even SAP the past two months because my schedule was fine as is. Being at the lower end of the pay scale with a contract written on swiss cheese and enforced by the "fly and grieve it" committee really lowers the bar for me. No way its up there with 9E on its best day. You are entitled to your two cents worth as much as I am. I wasn't going to comment but what the hey, guess I'm bored.

SkyWest has a good reputation that will quickly be diminished if management doesn't step up to the plate. They recently presented a new agreement to the pilot group which was overwhelmingly turned down. Now management has stated that they "are not interested in re-opening pay talks."

Their reputation will only take them so far moving forward.

I’m not sure why CPZ is in the slowly dying category. We haven’t lost any flying and still have years before that will even come to fruition if it ever does.

reread please -

slowly dying ?

certainly don't know all there is to know about each regionals contract, etc, etc. which is why I was curious what others lists/opinions would be like - anything on my version of the list from 5 through 12 could be interchanged for various reasons but I think *maybe* most would agree on my 1-4 & 13-14

Yeah I wouldn’t say slowly dying. They did lose 6 planes in 2017, and there’s speculation over the future since they don’t own the planes, but slowly dying is not the right words.

I think it’s slowly merging. You know, getting bought by delta to fly the SLC base. I heard they ordered a bunch of new hats too. Wouldn’t have ordered them if they didn’t plan on being around for a while.
