Also, as an MH-60 pilot myself... how the fudge did you end your military career with only 600 flight hours? I mean, you'd have a third of that before earning your wings.... and unless you got discharged at the 4 year mark of your career, I don't understand how you only have 600 hours...

I only ask because... some sort of less-than-honorable discharge will HEAVILY affect your hire-ability at any airline (as well as your ability to pass a background check).
How does an entry level separation affect your chances of getting hired at an airline? Seriously just asking for a friend lol

Unless I missed something I assume his military career isn’t over yet. Plenty of us Guard/Reserve guys that are airline on civilian side.

I figure I reach back out to you even though I am a bit late. To answer your question I'm still serving and still have about 4 years on my contract with the guard. I'm also deployed and I am.looking ahead to flying jobs afterwards. I have employment waiting for me when i get back. I'm an A&P mechanic at home for my full time job. I'm not in any huge hurry to find a flying job however I dont want to spend the rest of my life either being a mechanic.

How long have you been flying with envoy? Buddy if mine same credentials as me got declined when he applied. So I figure I wouldn't waste my time.

The current and projected market means you probably have the luxury of waiting if desired. But if you're interested in airlines, I wouldn't wait. A year can make a big difference long-term. I've seen one week make a big difference.

Guard/Reserve. I have 800 in 5 years with a deployment. Not everyone is active duty.

Wow, how do you retain any sort of proficiency? That little amount of flying just seems like a waste of everyone’s time and effort.

When did you go to flight school? Have you been through a drawdown yet? My nephew flying FA-18's in the Marines is only getting 10 hours/month if not deployed.
Post Desert Storm active duty UH/CH pilots were only getting about 120/year. Many higher time pilots were made FAC II just so there would be more money for new pilots.

Bit of advise from someone who’s been where you guys are. If you have GI Bill and are military helicopter/ airplane just your benefits to do a comm/Inst transition if needed. It’s VA approved and 55 hours. MidCoast Aviation in Riedsville GA is where I did mine. From there find a regional that has in order of priority:
1: domicile you live near or can EASILY commute to
2: decent reserve/ work rules (I’m at PSA our reserve blows goats)
3: good pay (see the included chart as an example)

Training is easy if you study, life after IOE can suck or be cake (see 1 &2)

Can you clarify this sentence for me? I have my Post 9/11 but was told that I basically give up 1 year of eligibility for 13k for flight training. Is this something different that you are referring to?
