Military heli pilot to regional stories

Military heli pilot to regional stories
Just a little about me. I'm a UH60 pilot with about 600 hrs including simulator time. I have zero fix wing time and I see what Trans States Airlines is offering for people in my position. 38K$ to get my ratings and go to any school I want for about 3-4 months. I've tried to research success stories on this before but I could not find any.
For any military helicopter people.out there who have gone regional without fix wing ratings or even time. I would like to know how it has worked out for you and how you like or liked being a first officer.
I have read some of the horror stories about regionals but I'm in this for the long haul and know going to the big guys will take time.
Thanks for your time
Greg

Personally I looked at what the hiring bonus was and calculated the cost of doing it on my own and did it that way.
I did already have 1600 heli, private fixed wing with 150 hours though so I just needed 100 hours and some add on ratings.
I wasn't tied to an indentured servant contract however and that is priceless...
I also did all that before anyone had these transition programs. I found a Cessna 150 with a dry rate of $40 an hour and banged around in that for most of the 100 hours needed, did a split the cost deal on the multi and found a job flying a piper arrow xc for the rest of the hours.

Good news is... you have options. There are more and more rotor to regional programs poping up. I am burning my GI bill paying for mine add-ons but that was after I made the decision not to further pursue grad school. Probably a lazy decision but I was burnt out when I left the military.

Yes I see that there are quite a fee options out there. One other than translate airlines (who is offering $38k ro help pay for transition) is GoJet. They are offering 51k to help out and a slightly more than pay (about a $1 more ) than trans states airlines. Any other info is welcome. Thank you for your time.

Envoy paid for my entire transition and then gave me a job. 10/10 would do again.
Also, as an MH-60 pilot myself... how the fudge did you end your military career with only 600 flight hours? I mean, you'd have a third of that before earning your wings.... and unless you got discharged at the 4 year mark of your career, I don't understand how you only have 600 hours...
I only ask because... some sort of less-than-honorable discharge will HEAVILY affect your hire-ability at any airline (as well as your ability to pass a background check).

Piedmont pays upto $23k for MTP and a new hire signing bonus ($16.5k last time I checked) after folks are on property.

The airlines don't care about your sim time, so don't even bother with that, only flight time.
Low hours are possible when the minimums are only 8 hours a month, maybe never deployed, or he still has time left and is looking ahead...
There's lots of RTP stories posted on here, just keep looking. Where do you want to live and work? Willing to commute? Start with those two questions first.
