I bought the DC Pro X to use in an Emb145. After a week long trip I am sending them back and have ordered a Bose A20.
It's not so much that they were bad, but the mic picked up a lot of the cockpit noise/wind noise and fed it back through as an annoying hash. Combined with not blocking a lot of the ambient noise anyway, it made radio work and the intercom fatiguing to continually jockey between too loud and unintelligible. To be fair, I tried a few other headsets in the same conditions and didn't have those issues. I'm sure they're fine for quieter jets, but they aren't for me. |

The easiest way to cut it the background noise the mic picks up is get a better mic muff with a leather cover that goes over the foam on the mic muff. |

I fly the 145. And my FO’s that have A20’s I’ve noticed their mic picks up a bunch of background noise too.
