PSA Interview

Hello all!
I have been a long time reader here at the board!
Guess I'm considered a Lurker....
But....I did apply at PSA for an interview and wanted to get
everybody's and their sister's advice!

I think I saw a thread earlier about a PSA interview, but wanted to
start my own:D
I applied with 900/300
What paperwork do you think they'll want?
I did email them asking what exactly I should have with me!
Has anyone else received the email from Rachel Hernandez for an interview friday the 20 and 21st?

All advice/info welcome!

Squawk_5543 04-12-2007 07:12 PM

From the sound of it they're letting anybody in now....looks like they just dropped their mins to comm multi. Good luck on your interview :D

supersix-4 04-12-2007 07:28 PM

You guys are ruthless!
Xfire if you get an e-mail to invite you for an interview it should have instructions on exactly what to bring. Read the gouge, it's probably mostly correct.

desertdog71 04-12-2007 07:30 PM

Congrats on the invite.

She did not state as to what exactly I should bring.
Basically only asked if I will be available on such and such a date
and what airpot I would like to fly out of.

I did sent an email back asking what exactly I should bring with me!

Thanks!

You should recieve another e-mail with a couple of attachments. One of those attachments has instructions on what to bring and such, the other one will be a 20+ page application form.

Ok, I'll be looking out for that one!
Darn it....and to my luck it's weekend now....

Xfire 04-15-2007 09:11 PM

Anyone else got an interview for the weekend of 04/20??

ncflyer704 04-16-2007 04:35 PM

Psa Interview

"Our interview process is broken down into three sections. Section one is a Skills Evaluation and General Aviation test (this is a new test and will not be available on any gouge site-sorry), next is a panel interview of 2-3 individuals, and a third phase will be a SIM ride."

This is part of the email I received today...Is the "new"test really new for the 4/20 interview, or is it the "new" test that was used as late as last Septemeber???/ ANYONE!>!>!>!>!>!

That's what I got also :-\
But, read the latest gouge on the aviationinterviews. First one happend just a week ago....so maybe they don't want any fixation?
Who knows......more studying ;)

supersix-4 04-16-2007 08:21 PM

Study the gouge, I found only a couple of questions that were not on it, But mostly the same...You only have 12 minutes to take the 25 question test too.
They will give you a list of times and the order of who's next on the list. you are all sent into the Cafeteira and sent back there when your done. So use some CRM and you'll find out that they ask you all the same questions...Sim ride was easy (for me) just have a steady hand and dont fixate. use the scan...

I've just put together a compilation of questions that I found in the gouges ranging back to almost a year.
Hopefully those "couple of questions" that weren't in those gouges will be the 5 that you're allowed to miss:D
But uhm...yah...study ATP book;)

rankin3 04-18-2007 10:14 AM

I also got the same packet for the 4/20 date. Hopefully the gouges are still a good starting point.

Hope so...there's only so many ATP questions to be able to change it often.
Only thing that really bothers me is the sim (if I even get there...)
Only have a few hours in a G-1000
I'm pretty much a steam gauges kinda guy :-\

rankin3 04-18-2007 01:32 PM

What's interesting is the gouge for last weeks round said the questions were pretty much the same as before.

" for the written exam it is the same as all the gouges they even told us that they just dont have time to change it".
-from aviationinterviews.com

I wonder if they got the same packet as we did saying the test is new.

If you read on, it'll also say "They DO change it (on purpose) because they want you to study for it!" "It's a whole mind game" :D

But yeah, good luck!

What kind of times do you guys have? I got a letter that basically said 600/100 was what they would be calling to interviews.

I got the same thing yesterday, no idea what to do next.

Roper92 04-19-2007 02:53 PM

Is there a payraise in PSA's future? Their 2nd and 3rd year pay is just downright terrible. The airline looks attractive to me (all CRJs, TYS, CLT). How do you current PSA pilots like it? I know there is much more to a contract than pay. How are the benefits and work rules? Would you put them up against ExpressJet, American Eagle, or Skywest?

Well....I didn't get that email though. Nor did I ever.
I sent in my resume to HR and 2 days later got an invite for
an interview.

No. There is no pay raise in PSA's future. Mgmt has repeatedly asked PSA pilots to fly -900s for -200 rates.

I'd guess most guys hate it. They're leaving by the gross. Anybody who can move up is going up, anybody who can move to the side is getting out that way. The company keeps reinterpreting the contract to the detriment of the pilot group.

I quit PSA to fly for Eagle (the BOS base was my deciding factor). And would've gone to XJet or Air Whisky if I had not been able to hold a NE domicile.

Here's a quote from a PSA message board, I think it sums up the entire PSA experience.

"Hey, just wanted to let everyone know that aircraft 703PS had the forward lav overflow and seep through the bulkhead and the carpet to row 10 on Monday, April 9. The company apparently has decided that this biohazard of blue juice and human waste is okay to fly because the juice is dry now. I hear that the passengers are complaining that it smells of urine and strong chemicals and are throwing up more often than normal in flight. Additionally, F/As are reporting sore throats and burning eyes as a result of continued exposure to this plane. Thought I would pass this along. "

Roper92 04-20-2007 05:15 AM

Robthree, good for you! I love seeing pilots ditch these crappy regional carriers for good ones. You picked one of the few good ones. How do you like it at Eagle? I hear one complaint about Eagle, upgrade upgrade upgrade. Who gives a crap? That will change. In the meantime, you will be an FO for a good airline that knows how to treat their employees.

Roper92 04-20-2007 05:16 AM

As for the second part of your post Robthree, I am rendered speechless..

pilot754 04-20-2007 09:10 AM

Squawk, strikes simply mean that the employees want better. That doesn't mean that they don't already have it better than most regionals..

Skyranger, I consider ExpressJet, Eagle, and Skywest one of the good ones. I don't consider PSA a bad one if that's what you're wondering. It's just my opinion anyways.

Skyranger777 04-21-2007 06:39 AM

oh no, I agree with you. But with the rescent issues at mainline, American Eagle still does not come up as one of the favorites or even good ones just yet IMHO. I hear that upgrade is coming quicker though, which is good for those guys. And trust me I don't consider PSA to be one of the better regionals either. Its not the worst but certainly not the best or even top 5 for that matter

Xfire, could you post your experience? Has the 25 question ATP test changed? What's the gouge? Is aviationinterviews.com pretty accurate?

For your question, takes about 1 week. Yoou should get a call from Rachel.

What are your times? I received the "we have your resume" email yesterday, how long after did you receive the invite?
