PSA has lowered thier mins
Hello Everyone. Just got finished talking with a recruiter at PSA. It is true, that they have lowered thier mins to Comm. M.E. Inst. Check out the website. Interview, along with sim eval is in Charlotte.
Waitng to see what Comair does......... |
I have a feeling there are gonna be alot of guys just skipping right over the CFI-ing and going straight to interview due to this trend. Our future holds much excitement gentlemen. :D

Somebody else said this on another thread, and I agree with it so let me try to paraphrase since I can't find it to copy and paste. You might be patient, but a lot of people that would consider instructing won't, b/c they don't want to get stuck behind someone seniority wise who currently has the same time that they have who decides to make the jump without instructing. Instructing for 6 months to build time and knowledge is great, but it could cost you 1 or 2 years of upgrade. Not saying that either is right/wrong, just a viewpoint, and a valid one, that a lot of low timers have.

If I could have skipped instructing, I would have. If you can pass the training, why not? If you don't someone else will.
|
It's not just that. I am also trying to prepare financially for the transition to making NOTHING AN HOUR !! Right now I have a good job which enables me to pay off and put away. Plus I'm locked in my apartment lease for awhile too....can't just up and head off to training....

I instructed in Western Washington, so, I make more at a regional.
There is nothing bad about instructing for a while, especially instrument instructing. It will really help training go smoother. |

Has anyone tried to apply at PSA with thier new low mins? If so, would you care to share your experience? Such as how long before call back, interview, sim eval, testing, etc.
