Clearly jet time is better than turboprop. Would turboprop time be good if one were looking to make a lateral move, though? It might not be as good as jet time to the majors, but is it looked at the same way at places like Republic?

The 'better' regionals always prefer 121 time. Tprop or jet doesn't matter.

I had to fly a prop once and afterwards I burned all of my clothes and cried in a hot shower for about 8 hours!

Just jokes (and I was joking before when I made that quote). I just can't believe some of the stuff I read on here. I mean, it's bad enough when you hear uneducated passengers making dumb comments about turboprops. "Didja hafta wind up the rubberbands before ya got in?"

for real though... props are for boats

Saying something like that around here here with only 11 posts is pretty brave. I'm still a CFI and I even I think saying that makes you sound like an SJS suffering idiot.

Edit: Oh I'm on APC not that 'other' forum. You wont get called quite as many bad names here for saying that, people will just try to 'enlighten' you. I still think it makes you sound like an idiot.

I fly the Saab. It's ridiculously awesome. I was just pokin fun of the kids. I am, however, an idiot & I apologize.

Story: There was this FO at my base briefly who obviously really really wished he'd had stuck it out & got an RJ driver job make the comment - "Those CRJ's over there really are shinier than these things."
