Hi,

Any body knows where in the US can one get training for the AVRO 145-146?? Any Info would be appreciated...

I'm pretty sure no sims in the USA exist. I was talking to a corporate operator last october and he said they were going to recurrent the next week and then it was being dismantled. As far as I know you have to go to europe now.

Wow, then what happened to the MESABA and AIR WISCONSIN sims??

Thats what the guy told me anyway, they were flying the 146 if it makes any difference.

Mesaba sim was dismantled last June and sent over to Frankfurt or Hamburg if I remember correctly. We now have a Saab fuselage sitting in the sim bay that we use for emergency exit training!

Why do you want to train on the BAe/Avro? Nobody operates the a/c in the US anymore.

I was offered a Captain position in the Dominican Republic. It seems that they have 7 Avros-146. They told me the trainiing is in Australia, and that's because they have no Sims in the US. I was hoping they were, but well . That's for the info...

Probably snag one from an old Air Wisconsin pilot...but then again, maybe not.

Does PanAm at IAD still have the 146 sim?
