Post Regional Airline Interview Luggage

In simple terms, how did you guys pack for your interview?

Did you guys bring any luggage? Should I bring a suit in my luggage and then put it on the morning of the interview or wear the suit on the plane over to the interview?

I know I might be overthinking this haha

Consider yourself the moment you step out of your house/apartment as being on the interview. If you’re traveling on the airline you’re interviewing with, I’d wear the suit and when you interact with anyone while in public always consider it part of the interview.

My dad worked for AA so I had a lot of standby experience growing up in knowing what is expected. Business casual flying to/from interview is good, you'd probably seem strange wearing a suit. I wore a suite only to the interview. I would suggest ironing it the night before, something usually goes wrong in the process! Good luck!

I always wear the suit to and from the interview. Generally just wear a nice dress shirt, no tie. Have a nice shirt and tie in my bag. I want to look and feel good the entire time. Never know who you may run into. I don’t like carrying suit carriers, and I’m not folding it up. Just be careful to not empty out a burrito onto it.
Depending on how long I’m where I’m going, I’ll bring a pair of jeans and a nice shirt or polo to get dinner. Maybe workout clothes to go shake out my nerves and get a good night’s sleep.
Good luck.
Oh, and you won’t look “strange” wearing your suit on the plane.

When you're at the hotel ironing your nice white dress shirt, run the iron over a T-shirt first to make sure there's no gunk on the bottom of it.

^^^^ This. I actually run the iron over a hotel towel, but same difference. Run it on a hot setting and use the cleaning feature or shoot a lot of steam out first to clear the holes of rust and build up.

Better to use a hotel towel. Make sure you hit that steam button when on the towel to ensure the steam holes don't have latent black death in them.

And even then, always do the back first. That way any residue will be covered by your jacket.

It helps to take your suit out of its luggage and hang it in the bathroom. When you take a warm shower that night or in the morning, the steam from the shower will help unwrinkle the suit.

Yes. You can close the bathroom door, run a full hot shower for 15 minutes and it will take the wrinkles out. Do it the night before so it can dry.

Test the iron.

Bring x2 white shirts.

On the plane wear the suit or biz casual with button down shirt. I do the later, don't want to get anything on the suit. Bubble gum or chocolate won't come out without dry cleaning, and I've sat in both on dead heads.
