Default Good or Bad? SKW ATL Domicile Opening July 1st

Just recieved this email from Mgmnt today, April 24th:

ATLANTA, GA DOMICILE OPENING

Effective July 1, 2007, Atlanta (ATL) Georgia will become our newest CRJ Crew Domicile.

The addition of this domicile will improve overall efficiency and reduce the number of 5 day trips that are currently being flown from SLC into the ATL system.

We will initially award fourteen (14) crew positions (in addition to the currently reserve compliment already based there).

Any thoughts? ASA guys?

I'm not quite sure about this move and I don't think that I'd bid for ATL either. I have friends at ASA and I wish the best for them so don't get my intentions wrong.

I dont think the ASA guys are going to like that much.. I recently heard an ASA guy compare Skywest to Mesa and GoJets and thought you guys were scabs. I thought that was pretty harsh but i guess he had his reasons.. I heard the same thing from Skyway guy..They are pretty upset you guys got their flying

If SKW hadn't accepted the flying then somebody else would have and obviously it wouldn't have been Skyway. We're not scabs; we're just working for a company that's receiving new codeshares. So by what you're saying XJTer's are scabs because they took ASA's flying in LAX, right? No offense!

It's not like Skyway's Mgmnt created an alter-airline called SKW like MAG created Freedom and TSA's created GoJets.

Couldn't agree more, my card is in and I'll vote "YES!" At the rate we're growing and changing we had better get representation!

Sarcasm?

This is probably another step in the slow death of ASA. I don't know, like I said I have nothing against ASA and I want the best for them. Jerry needs to clean house and I think he'll do it one way or another.

Nope, merely noting another success for SKW. Admittedly, maybe alittle jealousy also... But death of ASA? Completely, or a combination in seniority lists?

As for ASA it does suck, however, we own them. I think people forget that. Right or wrong, union or no union, for better or worse this is the way it is. I have a feeling that ATL will only grow. To the ASA pilot; I don't want your airplanes and I don't want to fly in ATL, however, I don't make those choices. The Skyway thing is different. Your parent airline didn't want to buy any RJ's, so they "rent" them from us. They needed more seats and didn't want props. People hate props! Trust me, I know, I fly the E-120. I don't know how much of your flying were "taking" I thought some or most were new markets?

I'm sure I missed spelled many words, it's not my stong point
