I was told my training date and equipment when I got the offer. Later I received a call confirming my class date and travel, then I was sent the new hire packet.

I recieved my new hire packet in the mail, but it stated that I would know my class date and equipment at a later date. I was told that my class date would be sometime in early July when I got the call for the job.

More total time will not increase chances of getting the jet. It's purely who's in que in the pool when they need a new class started up on a particular airplane. I'd hope for the SAAB, you'll upgrade on it before the jet and the crews are younger/cooler, flying much more challenging, you make more judgements/decisions, etc. But that's my own personal opinion.

upgrades happen when your senority numbers comes up and you have to have the time, if you dont have the time requirments you'll get bypassed, i believe most companies work this way and as i understand, even if your an rj fo you upgrade to the saab anyways seems strange but who knows. . as for the saab who cares i fly a metro, captain of course in the northwest so i dont know how much more challenging the midwest could actually get.

PS: sorry if that sounds snippy, not trying to start a war, just gathering info to make a decision. i dont care about equipment so as long as the checks are good
.

I'm in class right now and we didn't officially learn our aircraft until the first day of class. And, to date, we still haven't "officially" been told our base even though all of the paperwork I've seen has mentioned MEM.

For those of you in class now, you will see for sure one, and most likely two more vacancies posted before you are done with IOE. For those of you wishing to bid out of MEM, you will have opportunity to do so in the coming weeks on those vacancies. One you have MyMesaba access, you will need to set up your preference bid accordingly.

I interviewed on April 5th, was offered the job the next Tuesday and was told early July for class. I got my packet last week but don't know which aircraft I will be on (I am 99% that it will be the Saab from what I have been told).
