Default Best Regionals for Basing in Las Vegas

What are the best regionals for basing out of Vegas?

Any input on if they are hiring and the quality of the operation for a pilot is also appreciated. Hoping it will be a one year stepping stone.

Thanks!

There are no regionals with domiciles in LAS. Mesa and Skywest are the two dominant regionals on the west coast and they both have multiple domiciles within easy commuting distance.

If you can’t research enough about your future career to the point of realizing there are no regional airlines based in Vegas, then your going to be in for a rude awakening when you get to that one year mark!!! Welcome to the show buddy, I’d start by learning how to google before you plan on hitting the big show in a year!!!

Default If you have a TS clearance

You can apply to be a Janet FO. It’s VERY regional.

One year stepping stone? Like you’re hoping you’ll be hired by a major within a year? Okay...

Anyway....I’d look at Skywest. Commuting out of LAS is your only option if you can’t move. Skywest has enough bases within less than two hours, but nobody can guarantee you’ll get.

I’m in Vegas too. I initially thought Skywest would be the answer but if I had to pick right now I’d lean more towards Compass because of their 3 West Coast domiciles.

Skywest junior bases are all currently back east (DTW being the most junior last I checked). Just my $0.02...

If he's a mil pilot out of Nellis, that's entirely plausible.

If you're looking at the long term, SKW is a safer bet for the west.

If you're just getting in and out quickly, CZ might be safe enough. There were some rumblings about losing western flying, not sure what came of that.
