Default Commuting from Upper Peninsula Michigan

Anyone here commute from either SAW or CMX? What would be the best regional and base if I commuted out of either? (I'm looking at Skywest) Don't judge, yes I want to live in the upper peninsula of Michigan. Just not sure on a quality of life standpoint if it would be worth it. Looking for advice/opinions. Currently a CFI. Thanks!

SAW is currently a MX base for Envoy. We do tons of flights from there to ORD which is a junior base. Look at Envoy.

SkyWest dominates the UP. SAW/MQT, CIU, ESC, IMT, CMX, etc with flights to three SkyWest bases (MSP, ORD, DTW). Would be foolish to go anywhere else unless they're buying you a ticket on SkyWest to go to work.

SkyWest is a no brainer in your situation.

Another idea is SE WI, drive to ORD, then do the U.P. when off. A MI residency seems to become blemished in recent years anyway.

ZW MKE base could work. I know a few UPS and FedEx feeders that fly to MKE in the evening from IWD, IMT, CMX etc. it would require either crash pad or something, but the time away from home wouldn’t be impacted to badly.

Most of the MKE lines are like 5am shows on day one and 8pm or later finishes on day four. They probably wouldn’t even need a crashpad
