As far as MHT goes and commuting in I am not sure. I work in BIL and not on the flight side of things....I'm in dispatch and get an interesting view of what is going on, that is a little different than a pilot's point of view. I can say right now the schedule that the BOS pilots is not the greatest. The flights are the out and backs but the aircraft overnight in the outstations. I have seen pilot schedule's take them from an early morning crew call all the way to 15 hours of duty with almost 8 hours of flight time....almost, but not quite 8. Like I said before...if one thing goes wrong the system falls apart and you get stuck overnighting somewhere you didn't think you'd be.
I will talk with a captain who is out there and find out the answers to your questions. Give me until tomorrow and I'll have it for you.

I was also wondering the same thing. I sent my resume into them aobut a month ago and havent heard anything. I live in BOS and it would be a nice fit for me. However, is there a chance i would get stuck out west?????

People that want Boston will get Boston, unless another base opens and they have to put people there (possibly Cincinnati). Right now, they are a little short of FOs in BIL but not short Captains. Some FOs are spending up to a bid period in BIL but, as other classes get out of IOE, they are going to BOS. Right now, almost all captains are going to BOS (very few aren't) and it looks like they are needing about 4 more FOs in BIL, so you get a choice until those are filled, but most are choosing BOS. You won't get stuck out west for more than a month if you don't want to be there.
As far as commuting, you could commute from almost anywhere if you get a crash pad. I know that there are people commuting from a few places, including Seattle. Just look and see what options you have for flights. There is currently no commuter clause in the contract, but the new contract, if it happens, should have one. Also, no CASS, but rumor has it that it should happen in the next few months (but they have been saying that for a few months).
If you are close to having the hours, apply online every two weeks. Sometimes it takes a few times to get Stig's attention.

Dunno what stage they're in but CASS takes a while. If they're working on it be patient cause it, obviously, will eventually happen if they've began the process.

Like my quote? I screwed it up!!! Now Ellen will never think I'm cool. [I have such an internet crush on her!]

I still think you are COOL!
But this Shaun guy . . . . not sure . . . he's either new to line flying OR he's probably still in ground school/sim. I'd say the latter based on how his posts read.
