Scheduled 15 days off/ month, $1K every day over. Knew my schedule up to a year in advance. Never pushed & had ASAP. Didn't apply for any regionals when the company went under.

A bonus is just that. You sign now, you get paid. You have a type rating, you get paid more. The airline is effectively paying for a very expensive training and rating and all you have to do is sign a piece of paper. That isn't a narrative. That is just a fact. And this program isn't far removed from the days when new hires were unpaid until the end of training or had to pay for the type themselves. There companies aren't doing this out of the kindness of their heart.
Thanks for clearing that up for him |
There is no shortage of pilots at companies that pay healthy six figure salaries and offer a great QOL.

Food for thought. From: https://www.airlinepilotcentral.com/...tional/flexjet First line: NEW COMPENSATION: FIRST OFFICERS STARTING PAY AT $100,000 I know that's pointing to something, but I dunno what... |

It’s a little misleading. There preferred mins include gems like 500 hours instrument time. There true year 1 pay works out to roughly 85k at the $421*202days rate that apc has listed for them. So to reach that 100k they include things like bonuses and per diem. It also looks like fo pay is stagnant for 4 years(it’s better than captain pay at my regional, just saying)

Your real question should be, what is your end goal. Make it to a legacy 121, and make more over a career then a frac guy, or fly for fractional and make a decent amount over a career and definitely more than a regional. |
