hanging out with the F/A?

On layovers do you typically hangout with the flight attendants? I usually go my own way as I think it's unwise but notice others do it on the norm.

Some pilots do.

Go to the republic forum and read about “jetbridge fight” to see how that ends up working out

It really depends. Sometimes there is a camaraderie and it can be fun as with any person. In the world of the #metoo you don't want to get yourself in trouble. I've gone to baseball games, Mount Rushmore, and a load of other places with f/a s and others I don't. Honestly it's really up to you what you want to do on your layovers.

Do whatever you want, but for the love of God make sure all your interactions take place in public. You do not want to be alone with an FA in their hotel room, as an example. Too many ways for that to go wrong, quickly. Hang around here long enough and you'll hear the stories.

Nope. The current culture and political environment has made hanging out with crews outside of work risky. I hate to say it but it’s true. I will occasionally hang out with the other pilot for dinner or something but otherwise no.

I have seen too many instances of FAs making false accusations and claims against pilots. It can and has ruined people’s lives. The reality is that the cabin crew has far less invested and far less to lose than the flight crew. Anyone telling you otherwise is naive.

I've seen and done almost all of it over the years. I was at the point of only going out with at least two other crew and only in public. Thought that was safe enough.

Then met up with an FA recently who had pre partied with her own bottle before she went out with us. Pretty much had to carry her back to the hotel. If we had gone back without her, God knows what kind of trouble she would have got into without us and the company would have doubtless called us on the carpet.

Unless it's someone I know pretty well, I'm only going in public and calling it a night before the fun really starts. If anybody gets in trouble, everyone is getting scrutinized. Even riskier at a regional, younger FAs and less chance of adult supervision.

If you’re married it’s best to be cautious. Just use sound judgment. There are a lot of great FA’s.

I do, nothing to worry about if you don’t be a creep about it and take very very basic steps to make sure you don’t look like you’re doing anything wrong.

Only one. And we're contractually obligated to do so.

I’ve shared Crashpads with FA’s and for some of them it’s their first real job or their first time away from family and they’re about to go off the reservation.
It all depends on who, what and where.
Going out for a meal with a Lead that’s got 25 years under her belt is different then party hard bubble heads.
Stay away from those.
