Post Envoy or PSA??

End goal: American Airlines

Currently 4 hour driving distance from LGA. My local airport also has many PSA flights to DCA per day.

I also enjoy time off and lower pay doesn't bother me for better QOL.

The flow for a new hire at PSA is over 10 years currently for what that matters to you, not sure about Envoy.

Depending on who’s numbers you believe it’s the same for Envoy, or you will flow in 5 years. 🙄 Good luck.

So at the present time does Envoy or PSA have a better QOL based off what the word on the street is?

Depends on where you live. PSA will also have a change in QoL when we switch to a PBS, it will undoubtedly change the way we SAP, therefore altering how much control you have of your off time. Right now it's really nice. Unfortunately, I am of the belief that given previous performance of the union, the only direction for QoL when PBS hits is down.

Don't commute (especially to reserve), it's bad for your health.

I think PBS may be further off (if ever) than most pilots at PSA realize.

I will say there is a luxury of driving to work and not having to worry about delays, weather, flight loads, etc. LGA is also junior and the flying will pick up after winter most likely once you get out of training.

A 4 hour drive to NYC is hardly “not commuting”. If he lived in Queens or something I’d say it’s a clear choice. But a 4 hour drive to NYC? Nah I’m good. I’ll take a plane every time.

Care to place a wager on this? I'll give you 10:1 odds.

There is no way that it will take 10 years for anyone at PSA to flow to AA. That is ridiculous.

We lose over 25 per month outside of the flow, and dozens of guys that are in the top 25% of the list have interviews coming up soon outside of a flow.
