West Coast: Horizon vs Skywest?
Given the current backlog of FOs at Horizon but the seemingly high seniority required to get a west coast base as a CA at Skywest what would you guys rather go to right now or within a year if you wanted to be based on the west coast but also wanted to fly? How does the future look for both airlines as far as upgrade times go? If you decided to live on base for either airline which has a (in your opinion) better culture and QOL? Thanks!

Wow 3 posts before some alpa/jumpseat comment. Everyone has been great. A few snarky comments. When asking for the jumpsseat But moving on... OO SEA/LAX is about to double. QX is a great company but they will always be over staffed now after there last summer fiasco..

Skywest. For sure.
With QX you’ll be sitting around. Better situation on the Q400, but not by much. QX guys are also frustrated with the Alaska pathway program, which doesn’t seem to be worth it. Again, go with Skywest and keep telling yourself that by the time it’s time to upgrade your preferred bases could be junior...hope, always

What kind of career pathway program does Skywest have?

Guaranteed resume review... :-) LOL. But with that being said. OO has a ton of people going to all majors and LLC’s and Cargo.. could be a advantage as you don't have people waiting around for a “flow” or could be a disadvantage because you don't have a guaranteed path.. but the average attrition is 50-60 leaving a month..
