Go Jets
Ceyoung - gojets is a company where the management tried to negotiate with the employees, in this case the pilots, wanting them to fly larger equipment for the same amount of money. When the pilots refused and asked for additional pay when flying the larger equipment the company simply started a new company within the old one (TSA). It's a very shameful tactic yet that's the fact.
To top it all off, when GoJets was started many new-hire pilots in training at TSA were furloughed all of a sudden, yet they all got an offer to fly for GoJets instead. Most refused and rightfully so! I do not look at Gojets' pilots as scabs (pilots who crossed a picket line) yet I do believe they condone their company’s behavior by accepting a pilot position there. At my previous airline I did see a captain tell a go-jet pilot to "get off his airplane" when asked for a jumpseat (the captain was a former TSA pilot). Personally I think you should listen to your friend, he/she sounds like someone who knows what he/she is talking about and also someone who wants you to succeed. I know you hate being a cfi and that you got bills to pay. Most us were in your position not too long ago. Trust me; you’ll have much better opportunities before you know it. |

Your buddy is correct. Unless you intend to make go-jets your FINAL career destination, seek out ANY other employment...CFI, cargo, even mesa.
keep on stealing ASA's airplanes Rick! Every pilot hired at Skywest since they bought ASA is doing the same thing as any GJ pilot....THEY KNOW what they are doing to ASA pilots! and.....EAGLE furloughed while TSA HAPPILY took 10 of their airplanes to do the STL flying..... NEVER FORGET! Bring IT ON CRYBABIES! by the way the Eagle thing was arbitrated in favor of TSA to the extreme dislike of Eagle pilots.....AND the Gojet Arbitration has said that it IS NOT an alter ego and NOT a violation of the TSA scope clause.....so deal with it more gojet pilots are moving on to legacy carriers than the ones who whine about them..... |
goarmy-
as much as I think ASA guys are getting screwed, and as much beef as i had with being at skywest, im gonna defend rick and skw pilots on this one. Totally different than the GayJets situation. And take a look at what "big" delta is doing spreading the love, thats the problem |
Skywest pilots are 'allowing' managment to do it .....maybe rick sees it different.....but mature and professional pilots at legacy carries do not see it the same way the children at the 'kiddie table' do....
bottom line.....reguardless how you feel about the GoJet situation , the FACTS about where they are having to 'end' their careers are there....plain and simple..... its no different than other regionals.....the little boys at regionals are upset that someone else is playing the 'undercutting' game......if it was there airline they would be jumping for joy at the upgrades..... show me some UNITY and TURN down the next batch of flying you get and give it to your brothers and sisters at an airline with LONG upgrades...... |

Hey thanks you guys for your input. I didn't realize what I was really getting in to. Yeah after I made that post this morning I talked to some more pilots I know and they all said the same thing, to stay away from them, and now I know why. I have an opportunity to fly elsewhere and I think I am going to take it, just not with GoJets. After doing research on this company I couldn't in good concience work for a company that screwed so many pilots out of a job. I appreciate everyones input on this. Sorry to bring up what seems like an old topic.

i would rather be a professional at the cost of seeming 'intense' ....at least passengers can look at me and see an airline pilot....and not an unprofessional moron who wont wear their hat because they think it looks stupid....has hair that looks like they just got out of bed....a pinky ring and a shell neckalce ( these guys belong at a gay parade not an airplane) and pork chop side burns .....I could go on and on.....but its actually making it easier for me to succeed....those types are the ones that will be stuck at their current regional when they are in their 50s :-) ........a little off track but this is TOO fun!!
where is my shell necklace?? |

dude what are you talking about? civilians may not fit in "your world" but guess what, youre living in their world. dont trash a civilian for being a civilian. they are just as professional and so what if they dont wear their hats or or have sideburns. i think youve done too many tours in iraq there bud
btw thanks for your service |
