Maybe I'll transition to the bro just to get a month off.

Damn, a month? I got 7 days off. Start IOE on tuesday.

You forgot to ask if anybody has any material for you to study. :)

Congratulations!

Actually the Holiday Inn just opened up within the last couple of weeks, it was being built right beside the Comfort while I was there for training last month. Looked pretty nice, you guys should be set.

I finally got word on IOE myself, about 4 weeks from a/c ride to IOE.

yeah thats what i've heard too, about 4-5 weeks delay from check to IOE? I'm assuming this is still "training pay"?

bender 05-20-2007 04:17 PM

I started earning regular pay as soon as I finished either my checkride or aircraft checkout. It was well before I started IOE.

And a question for you current SKW guys, I would really appreciate some info on what the Lines are like out of SLC, DEN, and ATL...if anybody could send me a PM I'd be super, super-appreciative! For example: Will an ATL crew flow-through SLC flying during a trip?
DEN crews flow through ORD quite a bit which isn't totally bad. You might have more delays than the other bases, but our rampers/controllers are better than DEN or SLC. ATL opens in July and we haven't seen what the pairings are like yet. ATL went more senior than I thought it would so, depending on how much it grows, you might be on reserve down there at least 3-4 months.

Well thats a kick in the nuts. Candlewoods are niiiice.

Yeah I called over to the "new Holiday Inn express" and the're not sure but they think we (28th class) are at the downtown one. Can anyone confirm this becuase I have no gotten the email from Sharmane with details yet. Most people have advised me against it but I'm not driving my car out there (coming from CA). Is there still a shuttle to the skywest hangar from the downtown Holiday Inn? Thanks

The shuttle depends on the hotel. My class got stuck at the Red Lion. While the hotel was nicer than the Candlewood, the shuttle service was HORRIBLE. They would only take us to the hangar in the morning and pick us up at the hangar at 5pm. If we got done early, they refused to come pick us up. Thats okay though, we just worked on our flows. They refused to take us anywhere in town. except once. We relied heavily on two people that brought their cars. Thanks guys!

I couldn't be more thrilled :-) I was so completely impressed with everything I saw during my visit to SLC that I couldn't imagine being anywhere else! And what a thorough Interview! You have to respect a company that really wants to see what you're made of like that...

Unfortunately, I didn't have the full two-weeks to give notice to my Flight Manager, but he was super-cool about it. Is there anyone else here I'll be seeing on the 28th for the CRJ??

Well I guess I'm off to bed...I fly my last leg on the EMB-145 early tomorrow morning ::long sigh:: I'm gonna miss her a heck of a lot (and her Ram Horns LoL)...

Goodnight!

Welcome to the BEST regional in the industry where our goals are high and our standards are even higher. Most people know this and I'm sure you did too. Our managment team is the best in the regional industry comparable to Herb and Gordan, so you know we will be around for a long time. You made a good choice and I notice you came from another carrier which one was it? I'm sure it was a former Alpa carrier, we get plenty of people from other carriers.

The lines out of SLC and DEN are great lots of west coast flying to fun destinations that our crews enjoy going to.

P.S. Am I hearing correctly that SKW has lowered their mins??!
Nope still 1000/100 we don't need to lower them since people leave other airlines to come here. When you're on top you can be very selective.

I only waited 3 days for IOE when I was on the Bro and 5 weeks for IOE on the jet. During that 5 weeks I called 4 times a week until I got my answer, our IOE coordinator told me that all MKE pilots had priority and it will remain so through the end of the year. Mainly because we're short in MKE and every month we gain flying (in MKE) so it's a struggle to train pilots fast enough to keep out with the line demands. If you get any other domicile you'll sit for 4+ weeks until they can squeeze you in. Bid MKE if you want to complete IOE ASAP otherwise enjoy your 4 weeks off with full reserve pay and use your pilot privileges to travel (go see friends, family, abroad, etc.).

Although I share most, definitely not all, of your opinions I still feel that you're on a sugar high from too much Kool-Aid. Next time remember to mix it with water, it’s not health to snort it.
