It's part of how they offset your training cost. Bottom line, first year pay SUX EVERYWHERE!

UPS only pays $33 an hour first year; second year's a different story. All the Legacies pay around $30-$35 an hour first year, with the exception of US Airways that pays $25 and Delta that pays $49.

yeah, i know. I just had to ***** after finding out how much its going to cost to fix my car. :) I didn't interview anywhere else. Waited until 1200tt before I even considered applying. Skywest was always my 1st choice.

I did as well; SKW was my first choice and my only interview. I don’t count myself lucky, I just consider myself smart. There's no other regional I'd rather be at!

I had 1150TT and 140 multi when I got hired.

That is spectacular - When I got on with Trans States, many of my "friends" were jealous enough to "wish me luck getting furloughed"...with friends like those who needs enemies, right??

BTW, how many guys do you know in class at SKW with less than 1000TT? (prior 121 perhaps?)

Yep...I think I have just broken that barrier...shattered it, in fact: My "Job" is no longer that. I fly Jets as a HOBBY LoL. Can't wait to show the tax-lady the W-2 of an Airline Pilot at the end of the year ;-)

Pride comes before the fall gentleman. I'm happy and grateful to be here (SKW), but so were the pilots of Comair and Air Whiskey. The industry is quite dynamic and has a way of changing rapidly.

I'm still going back and forth with bring my car out. Let me ask you guys this: Was there ever a time where you were in a tight spot becuase you DID NOT have your car while in training. Thanks again.

No, but having a car at training made things much easier. You didn't have to eat from the Roach Coach everyday, didn't have to wait for the van, dinner wasn't restricted to walking distance, etc. If you can afford it then I'd do it, after all you are spending 6-8 weeks in SLC.

Candlewood provides transportation to the grocery store twice a week. I eat in for every meal and bring lunch to the training center. Like JJ16 said it would be nice but I'm gettin along just fine. I'm from Florida though, so I didn't have much choice.

Maybe I'll transition to the bro just to get a month off.

Actually, I'm in the RJ! Really weird how some people wait a month and others wait a week.

Yup, I think so... I'll know for sure when I get paid tomorrow.

Maybe it's not jealousy so much as just growing tired of your constant declarations that your employer is "perfect" and theirs "sucks."
