With all the new CRJ's (200/900) Mesaba is getting, any idea what routes they will be flying? (I have heard that the 900's first day in service will be June 7 and will be flown MSP-DFW-MSP-FAR-MSP-MDW-MSP.) Wondering if any XJ insiders had any info.

fair game?? wow. i know some of these 900's are taking some mainline routes and there isn't much we can do about it, but calling it fair game is a little,,, well you know what i am about to say. and i think everyone on here agrees.

That's exactly what I meant, it is an awful shame that the DC9's are getting replaced with an aircraft the SAME size operated by a regional carrier at substandard pay.

I am all for more mainline planes, especially in a city like chicago. We do DTW MDW in the 50 seater and its stupid, its even stupid for a 76 seat jet. Chicago could be all 757s and still be full 75 % of the time

Think of it this way, every DC9 that gets replaced with a CRJ900 being flown by a regional partner, equates to about 10 less jobs at the majors for you and me, and everyone else at our level.

According to a dispatcher at mesaba the new routes are direct replacement for a lot of current DC-9 routes. I don't know if they are low demand routes or not, but I hate seeing jobs that could of put us up to mainline be pushed to us.
