Default C310 emergency landing

A Cessna 310 just landed in Tampa with a partially retracted nose gear. Pilots did an awesome job...didn't even see a spark. Watched it live on CNN...should be some stuff on the web about it shortly.

What is it about nose gear failures in Florida????

Is there a procedure for that in the 310 aircraft handbook?

Definitely a great job on the pilots part. Always funny to listen in to the news with their "aviation experts" though.

Usually, the aviation eexperts are just that. Miles O'Brien with CNN is an actual pilot that fliesona regular basis. I saw the story and their news consultant is a CFI. SO,dont bash themtoo much just because they are the media. Most do have valid consultants.

Not the first time that plane had a gear problem. It has also landed gear up afterr the pilot was unable to get the gear down automically or manually.

I have had ppl ask if I have ever been scared flying. I usually answer that I have not been scared while in the airplane, but there have been a few times when I get out of the airplane and my knees are very weak. I think this was a prime example of that.
